Pavilion Membership

Pavilion welcomes singlets, multiples, medians, the unsure, and everyone in between. We only require that you (singular or plural) be committed to the ideals of responsibility and functionality -- to be able to live up to these ideals and present a healthy public image -- and social acceptance of healthy multiplicity. We ask that you accept the equality of all kinds -- singlet, median, plural: the belief that multiples are intrinsically more intelligent or capable than singlets won't fly with us. While members can choose to do as much activism as they please, don't join if you're not willing to go out of your way to do anything at all (writing media response letters, using our mail form if you wish, is the minimum of activism we want to see from members). Be willing to act as part of a team and to cooperate with others.

Formerly we recommended that members sign the In Essence Pledge which states in a variety of ways that your group takes responsibility for itself and its members. At present, we invite members to write a brief, formal statement of personal/system responsibility signed by the system at large, so people don't have to sign something that is inconsistent with the nature of their operating system.

The reason for these statements is, it's useful to show to the people we are attempting to educate. It shows them that persons within multiple or median systems are capable of cooperation and responsibility. This can't be overemphasized -- too many people out there still think that all plurals behave similar to what they've seen in the movies.
