We use certain words to describe elements and experiences of multiplicity in order for members to be able to better understand different viewpoints. If you have words that you feel are more descriptive of these elements, please let us know.

We seek not to deny anyone their experience but to distill the experience into its essentials. We are looking for descriptive yet inclusive language. If you are uncertain if you are a median or a plural, you do not have to be completely concrete about your type. It does not matter how 'multiple' or how 'median' or 'singlet' you feel you are -- what matters is that you are willing to respect all types of persons/groups.

Whatever you feel you are is up to your definition of yourself/ves, which may vary over time, and it is not up to us to force a specific label to use. However, we do retain categories so each type can better try to understand each other as related equals, and use these terms for ease of reference.

Members of Pavilion recognize people who feel they are in between -- for instance, singlet/median or median/plural -- as long as they are also willing to recognize commonality with others and personal responsibility for their own actions.
